Over the course of many articles I will give you recipes I know you will enjoy and will be good for you. They are original and will be appealing to any ethnic taste. I’m hoping that you will enjoy them and share with me your thoughts. I’d like to hear your comments so I can become more creative and help you even more in your quest for a healthy and fit body and mind.
I believe we should take less and less prescription and over-the-counter drugs and spend less time with our doctors and take more responsibility for ourselves. We need to take preventative measures to avoid future medical problems before they become serious medical issues. As an example; Most people are pretty careful about the care they give their car. We take our car in for regular service, maintenance, oil changes and all for better performance and longevity; and yet we let go of our personal health responsibility and hand it to our physicians ““when we don’t feel good. More importantly most of us take prescribed medications followed by another and then another. All to avoid future medical problems. We come to be at the mercy of the medical establishment for our future health. Do not get me wrong. There are many cases that require serious medical attention, and I would never stand In the way of the good of medicine. But I’m talking about prevention, not intervention. As you know, I’m into fitness of the mind, body and spirit and I’ve seen some pretty remarkable changes in my clients over the years. So to those of you who arejust average people carrying around 15 or more pounds on their frame, or many more, or you just don’t have any energy or just plain don’t feel well, it’s not to late to start on the healthy track before it is too late. We are in awe of the skills and abilities of our doctors, yet with all of that talent, skill andeducation, they can’t perform miracles. I believe you can, if you want to.
So, let’s make it as simple as possible, as the mantra says. I also say be creative. You don’t have to follow my recipe to the letter. I’ll show you when and where to add your own touch. Keep in mind, I will tell you to replace the bad food for good food. I will also try and give you the same taste and texture that you have enjoyed in the past with the bad food. Don’t believe me eh? Well, get ready for some magic!
I’m going to replace the rice for rice lovers and the bread for bread lovers and a few other foods as well. Bad for good.
With that being said, all the dishes I recommend consist of no rice, no flour, except my recommended crackers. No sugar, no dairy, or no trans fats, etc., etc., etc. You will hear me say over and over again, shredded white cabbage and finely chopped celery is my substitute for rice. I’ve tried to create a similar taste to the one we have been brought up to remember. A warm and nurturing experience I know you’ll enjoy and that will be good for you. Good Eating!
Cooking items you must have on hand.
•A wok or large fry pan ““non-stick ““a good one-make the investment.
•A sturdy, short-handle spatula, a firm one for turning and tossing.
•A spinner to dry your vegetables.
•A blender or food processor-a good one because it will get a lot of use.
•A grinder for finely chopping nuts and certain veggies.
•A juicer and it has to be a pretty powerful one to make your jobeasier.
My recipes are not measurement bound. They are flavor friendly meaning you do not have to measure most items. Just add them to your taste. I don’t believe in in-the-box thinking. Be creative. Put more of an item that you like. Experiment with food to find your inner chef-you’ll love yourself and others will too!
