Milk and Cheese, Ice Cream Sundaes…

Maggie says NO! There are better choices and she tells you why…..My Father passed away from cardio vascular disease when I was 11 years old and shortly after my Mother died of leukemia and type 2 diabetes, not to mention another brother (a doctor) passing from heart issues at age 40. Their death, along with the genes I carry, have caused me to commit my whole life as an example of how to overcome my genetic DNA. I told myself early on that I didn’t want the same fate and so I’ve worked hard to educate others in the same vein.
In the last newsletter, I spoke about sugar/starch and the damage they cause. Now I think it is time to say a few things about milk, dairy and ice cream. I try to make things real simple. I love what Mother Nature has created for us. I see it everyday. We eat and drink things and believe everything we hear and read about them without even the slightest question. Having been extremely conscience all my life about what I eat and drink, I’ve tried to make the food and drink concoction simple, organic and balanced. It is my respect for nature and the body given to me that makes me more selective in my food choices and allows me to be a more conscientious consumer.
I’ve made dairy products a significantly limited choice for me. The dairy industry has grown to giant proportions and is mushrooming beyond imagination. All we have to do to see its impact is to watch the TV and look at the billboards and see the attractive ads showing a fit/lean gorgeous woman with a “˜milk’ mustache. To me, these ads are misleading and don’t help us in our overwhelming battle against obesity. Ponder this question! If milk is supposed to create such great muscles, where does the thoroughbred race horse, who is a vegetarian, get such beautiful, long, lean muscles?
FACT – An exhaustive study done at Michigan State University regarding loss of Calcium (bone density studies) showed conclusively that vegetarians were found to have significantly stronger bones. Go figure?
What the dairy industry fails to address is the damage caused by dairy products. The propaganda will have us believe there is a shortage of Calcium and that milk (dairy products) will be the savior! It has fooled us into believing that milk is absolutely necessary for humans and that its a complete food from infancy to old age. NOT SO. With this intense fear, you would think calcium is difficult to find. Again, NOT SO.
FACT – It is available to us in every food we eat and believe it or not, a cup of sesame seeds contains 2,200 mg of calcium when a cup of milk will give us just 280 mg.
To begin with, milk is intended by nature to grow the bone structure of the particular animal from which it comes. Let me repeat this because it is so important; grow the bone structure of the particular animal from which it comes. This is why mother’s milk is the best choice for a new born baby. It is intended to develop the bone structure of the baby for a certain time period until, eventually, it has what is needed for a mature individual.
FACT – Cow’s milk contains 300% more casein than mother’s milk and is intended to grow the calf to a maturity of about three quarters of a ton!
What is obvious, is the great excess of casein in cow’s milk which is digested and assimilated constructively by the calf, but when it comes to humans, casein is not digested and assimilated, except in rare instances. Casein is a phosphor protein of milk; it is produced when milk is curdled and is the main constituent in cheese, NOT GOOD as it is also used to make adhesives! Milk is very limited (useless is Maggie’s comment) as a human food since it clogs up the system with mucus. And this is what cow’s milk does to our bodies. Read on. When it creates mucus, it usually lodges in the sinus cavities in the breathing channels and in many other vital parts of our system. Doesn’t sound very good, does it? I have found, through my experience, that milk is one of the most mucus forming foods we consume and yet the dairy industry wants us to drink and eat even more! Here are a few words and phrases to ponder; calcium deficiency, kidney stones (ouch!), osteoporosis, just to name some. As much as calcium is good for us and a shortage of calcium is bad for us, you need to strike a balance of protein, calcium and all of the other minerals our body needs. Anything green; spinach, asparagus, cabbage, broccoli, and figs, prunes, just to name a few. Eat right and you’ll get what you need. Mother Nature intended it that way.
Now, after saying all of this, eat dairy products with extreme moderation although some organic yogurts can be consumed as an alternative. I also prefer an unsweetened almond milk as a substitute. Call me.
My Message – “Everything we eat, do and think are directly connected to the way we feel. So take charge of your eating regimen and I wish you a long, healthy, peaceful and joyful life. Call or email me with any questions”. As Always, From the Heart, Maggie
